King College::BChem Program

Admission Requirements to the Bachelor of Chemistry Program

To enroll in King College's Bachelor of Chemistry program, students must complete the following requirements:

Students will have completed at least 50 semester hours in the following disciplines:

All students, as part of their transfer credits, will have completed at least 19 semester hours in the following disciplines:
General Chemistry	8 semester hours
English Composition	3 semester hours
U.S. History, Western Civ., and/or Humanities	6 semester hours
Social Science (excluding History)	3 semester hours
Electives	18 semester hours
A minimum of 12 semester hours completed from the following courses*:
Organic Chemistry	8 semester hours
General Biology	8 semester hours
General Physics	8 semester hours
Calculus	4 semester hours
Total Hours	50 semester hours

* All courses must be completed prior to graduation. If a student entering the program lacks hours in this list of courses, the hours may be obtained simultaneously while participating in the BChem program.

Admission Procedure

To apply for admission to the Bachelor of Chemistry program, individuals must:

Submit a completed application.
Pay the application fee. (Waived when you apply online!)
Have official transcripts sent of all college level work from regionally accredited schools demonstrating:
- A minimum of 2.5 grade point average on a 4.0 scale. Students with less than a 2.5 GPA may be accepted conditionally.
- The equivalent of 50 - 75 semester hours of coursework or an associate’s degree.
Submit a two- to three-page personal narrative describing your goals and aspirations for pursuing the BChem program.
Obtain letters of recommendation from two persons qualified to judge your potential for success in the BChem program.
